Houston, Texas - The University of Houston Cougar Football team reports to fall camp tomorrow afternoon, thus beginning its quest to capture back-to-back league titles for the first time since the 1978-79 campaigns. The Cougars took the Conference USA title in 2006, their first since winning the inaugural C-USA crown in 1996.
The Cougars will officially report to the UH campus in the afternoon, receiving their equipment, taking part in a team meeting, and then sitting down as a full squad for dinner.
Houston will take to the field for the first time on Thursday, August 2. The Cougars are slated to work out for the first time in the afternoon on the UH Practice Fields.
Last season Houston finished 7-1 in league play, winning the West Division and later knocking off Southern Miss, 34-20, in the C-USA Championship Game. The Cougars finished the season with a 10-4 record, and 18 starters return to shoot for the repeat performance. Overall, UH returns 52 lettermen.
