HOUSTON - The Cougars entered the Collegiate Baseball poll for the first time during their 2007 campaign, landing at No. 28 nationally. UH also received eight votes in the latest USA Today/ESPN Coaches' poll, tying for the 39th-highest point total.
This marks the first time the Cougars were ranked in a national poll during the season since the 2006 squad finished the year among the Top 25 leaders in all five national polls.
UH was ranked No. 33 by Collegiate Baseball in that publication's 2007 preseason poll.
The Cougars return to action when they square off against Texas-San Antonio at 6 p.m., Tuesday at Riverside Park in Victoria during the rubber match of the 2007 season series. UH posted a 12-10 win over the Roadrunners Feb. 22 during the Southwest Diamond Classic before falling in a 4-3 decision Feb. 27 in San Antonio.
