• C-USA Pitcher of the Week (May 8, 2006)
SUMMER (2006) Named to the Cape Cod League All-Star game... Compiled a 2-1 record with 35 strikeouts and a 1.03 ERA in 43.2 innings as a member of the Chatham A's.
SOPHOMORE (2006) Emerged as the Cougars' No. 2 starter in weekend series... Finished second on the staff in wins (8), innings pitched (100.2), strikeouts (82) and third in ERA (3.31).... Teamed with Brad Lincoln to be the second-best strikeout tandem in UH history, tossing a combined 234 strikeouts... Made his season debut out of the bullpen against Texas-San Antonio... Threw 3.1 shutout innings with four strikeouts and only one hit allowed against No. 7 Texas at the Houston College Classic... Held No. 23 Arizona State to only two hits in four shutout innings of relief... Earned his first win of the season after holding Northwestern State to only one run off three hits with four strikeouts in 5.1 innings... Tied his career high with seven strikeouts in 6.2 innings at Lamar... Allowed only one unearned run off four hits with three strikeouts in seven innings during the middle game of the UC Irvine series... Earned his first career save after striking out the only batter he faced against No. 18 Baylor... Was the no-luck losing pitcher in the second game of the San Diego series... Held the Toreros to only two runs (one earned) off six hits with four strikeouts in a career-best 8.2 innings.. Struck out a career-best eight in seven innings with only one run allowed in the middle game of the Marshall series... Earned the win after holding McNeese State to one unearned run with a strikeout in two innings.. Held No. 22 Southern Miss to only three hits with five strikeouts over the final 5.1 shutout innings to earn the win... Allowed only one unearned run while striking out a career-high-tying eight in eight innings in the middle game of the Memphis series... Struck out eight in 7.2 innings during the middle game of the UAB series... Struck out a career--best nine batters with only one earned run allowed in 8.1 innings against C-USA rival UCF during the middle game of that series. C-USA Tournament: Scattered one run off seven hits with three strikeouts in seven solid innings against Marshall.
FRESHMAN (2005) Began the season as the Cougars' midweek starter and emerged later out of the bullpen... Appeared in 17 games with five starts... Made his collegiate debut against No. 23 Oklahoma State during the second day of the Minute Maid Park College Classic... Held the Cowboys to only three runs (two earned) off five hits with two strikeouts in six innings of work.... Earned his first collegiate win after tossing six shutout innings with a career-high seven strikeouts against Sam Houston State... Threw two innings of shutout relief at No. 15 Baylor... Earned his second win after holding Texas Southern in 2.2 innings of relief with six strikeouts.
KATY HIGH SCHOOL Helped lead Katy High to the 2004 District 19-5A championship and a berth in the Region III Finals... Named to the All-District and All-State First Team following his final prep season... Batted .433 and pitched to a 9-1 record... Was an All-State Third Team honoree by the Texas Sports Writers Association as a senior... Was an All-District honoree for three consecutive seasons... Was captain of his team as a senior and junior... Rapped out two hits and struck out 13 batters in a playoff victory over Bellaire High... Member of the USA Youth National Team...
