Track and Field Heads to LSU Tiger Classic

HOUSTON - The University of Houston track and field team will compete in the LSU Tiger Classic on Saturday in Baton Rouge, La.
This is the third meet of the outdoor season for the Cougars. The meet will begin with the men's hammer throw at 10 a.m. and the running events are scheduled to start at 2 p.m. at the Bernie Moore Track Stadium.
Last weekend the Cougars split and sent teams to both the TSU Relays and the Texas Invitational. They won a combined seven events led by junior James Lee. Lee finished second in the discus with a throw of 57.55m/188-10. His throw is the fifth best all-time in UH history. It is also currently ranks as the top throw C-USA.
Four Cougars have already qualified for the NCAA Regional after only two meets this season. Lee qualified in the discus along with teammates senior Tristian Whitley (high jump), junior Ivan Diggs (high jump) and freshman Alex Bentley (pole vault).
