HOUSTON - The University of Houston softball team (27-11, 8-1 C-USA) plays host to a key Conference USA series this weekend as UAB (24-16, 5-3 C-USA) heads to the Cougar Softball Stadium for a three-game set.
Saturday's doubleheader is slated for 1pm but start time could change due to weather conditions. Check UHCougars.com for start times before heading to the ballpark. Sunday's game at noon will be televised live on CSTV. Carter Blackburn and Ann Schatz will have the call.
The Cougars have won 20 of their last 25 games. Three of the five setbacks during the streak have come against Top Five opponents. In fact, nine of Houston's 11 losses this season have come to currently ranked Top 25 opponents with five of those nine losses coming by a single run.
Houston is coming off a sweep at Sam Houston State where five Cougars knocked home runs en route to 7-2 and 7-3 wins. The Cougars have outscored their opponents 47-11 in league games.
"Our games with Sam Houston State were good preparation for UAB," Holas said. "Our goal is to continue to work hard and have two solid practices and get ready for a key conference series."
All three games of the UAB series will have live stats available via GameTracker on UHCougars.com
