HOUSTON - The University of Houston softball team faces off in a weekend series against defending Conference USA champion, Tulsa.
"This is an important series in our conference race," head coach Kyla Holas said. "Tulsa beat us two out of three games and ended up winning the regular season by a half-game last season. We need to protect our home field and back up our selection as conference preseason favorites."
Houston (20-10, 3-0 C-USA) has won 13 of its last 17 games. Three of the four setbacks have come against Top Five opponents. In fact, nine of Houston's 10 losses have come to Top 25 opponents with five of those nine losses coming by a single run.
