HEAD COACH Art Briles
On the Tulsa game:
"Reflecting on Saturday, we got our lips punched. That's not pleasant and not what we expected but how we respond to it will determine what type of men we are. I'm very thankful for the opportunity we have Saturday. I know how we're going to respond, we've got a job to do and we're going to go do it."
On Marshall:
"They're a good football team that is playing well late in the season. They've won two out of their last three games. They played as well against East Carolina as anybody has all year, 253 yards in total offense, that's pretty impressive. They're averaging 38 points a game, they (ECU) scored seven on them.
So we know they're going to come in here confident, but we're going to very determined. It's going to be a great opportunity for us to get back to where we belong, where we are and to take care of business. What we're concentrating on now is beating Marshall, that's it. That's what we have to do. We have to reestablish ourselves as a football team and as men. That's our goal this week."
On the team's performance Saturday against Tulsa:
"I know it sounds strange, but we didn't play that bad. What happened was that we let the game get away from us late in the second quarter. We came out and tried to make a little run to start the second half and got a penalty to call us back. Instead of first and goal we're back at our 14-yard line. That's part of the game. It was kind of indicative of how it went most of the day. I've been through a lot of football games, but I haven't been through many like that."
On Marshall's QB Bernard Morris:
"He's a good football player, he's the catalyst of their offensive football team without a doubt. He's the guy we have to get on, detain and keep that rhythm down. He's a rhythm guy without a doubt, but he's a good, good football player, a two-year starter."
On Bernard Morris' performance against ECU:
"The reason he was good last week was because he was able to run the football. He had a 75-yard touchdown run against East Carolina. That helped him with the throwing game because they (ECU) backed off bringing a lot of pressure on him. They did a good job, they were on last week against ECU."
