Softball Earns NFCA All-Academic Recognition

STARKVILLE, Mississippi - The University of Houston softball team was named to the NFCA All-Academic list with Katie Bush, Amanda Grote and graduate Brett Moody also receiving individual scholar-athlete recognition, announced the National Fastpitch Coaches Associtation.
After achieving a cumulative grade point average of 2.88, the Cougars were ranked and honored. Scholar-athletes are required to maintain a 3.5 or above grade point average for the year to qualify for the individual honor.
Bush is a junior outfielder majoring kinesiology. She was also named to the 2007 Conference USA All-Academic Team, ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District VI First Team and the 2006-07 Conference USA Commissioner Honor Roll & Academic Medal. First baseman Grote, a kinesiology major, and catcher Moody, an exercise science major, were both named to the Conference USA Commissioner Honor Roll & Academic Medal in the 2006-07 season.
