Track and Field to Host Leonard Hilton Memorial Friday

HOUSTON - The University of Houston track and field team hosts the Leonard Hilton Memorial Friday at Yeoman Field House. This is the first home meet of the 2007 indoor season for the Cougars.
The Leonard Hilton memorial costs $5 and starts at 2 p.m. with the field events and the running events will begin at 3 p.m.
Teams participating in the meet include Grambling State, Huston-Tillotson, Jackson St., Lamar, McNeese St., Nicholls St., Rice, Sam Houston St., Southern Texas, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, Texas Lutheran, Texas Southern, Texas State, Tulane, UT-Pan Am and UT-San Antonia.
UH is coming off an impressive showing at the Arkansas Invitational. Senior Ebonie Floyd set an NCAA qualifying mark in the 60 meters. Floyd's time was a personal best and set a new UH school record in the event. The win earned her C-USA Female Athlete of the Week honors. Junior Amanda Villanueva won the weight throw, senior Calum Neff was runner-up in the mile and the men's distance medley relay team came in second.
