Hey Coog Fans,
Well, it's finally over. No, I'm not talking about the season or anything baseball related. I'm talking about school. For my wife and I, school is over - FOREVER! She graduated from law school in Virginia on May 6th, and I finally graduated on May 12th at 6pm.
The day was pretty crazy because I came to the ballpark to get ready to get dressed for a game, but then I had to go to a graduation ceremony. The crazy thing was I needed to figure out how to get all my equipment and uniform over to Rice while I was graduating. So I packed up all my equipment in my batbag along with my jersey and asked Clay Boone to carry my bag to the locker room over at Rice.
The rest of my uniform (pants, socks, etc.) I had on under my slacks and gown. Yes, I graduated with my baseball uniform on, minus the jersey, underneath my gown. I think I might be the only person in UH history to graduate with a baseball pants on.
The actual games this weekend were OK with Friday, of course, being the best. Brad Lincoln was lights out, throwing a shutout against the No. 1 team in the nation and was rewarded with the C-USA Pitcher of the Week. Saturday and Sunday, well we lost, so let's just leave it at that.
This past weekend was pretty tough with us dropping two out of three at Rice, but we are focusing on Sam Houston State on Tuesday and the C-USA Tournament in a week. We are really getting geared up for the post season and are looking forward to something special this year.
Thanks,
Brett
