April 24, 2006
Hey Coog Fans,
Well it's finally over. I have turned in my 60-page research paper on Wednesday, April 19. All I need to do know is present it on Wednesday, April 26, and I'm one step closer to graduating.
Well, this past weekend in Hattiesburg, Miss., was a good one for the Coogs. I'll be brief about last weekend, since it's kind of old news, but when you score 44 runs in 3 games it's worth talking a little bit about.
Friday, Brad Lincoln pitched well again and at the same time, pitched comfortably. I mean, how can you not when your offense scores a total of 24 runs in a game. Saturday, the bats came alive again when we scored 13. On Sunday, we scored seven, but we weren't able to come out on top.
Our offense went on a tear over the past nine games, though. If my math is correct, we have produced 131 hits, including 24 home runs over the last nine games. I don't think that our team has ever done something that insane since I've been a Cougar.
Well, we have Memphis this weekend, and I hope that our bats stay as hot as they have been. They should be a tough test, but hopefully we can take at least 2 out of 3 from them. That's always our goal going into every conference weekend. Hope to see a big crowd out this weekend.
Thanks,
27
