HOUSTON, Texas - Former University of Houston football player Thomas Gafford signed a free agent contract with the Green Bay Packers. Gafford will attempt to make the NFL squad as a long snapper.
Gafford lettered four seasons (2001-04) for the Cougars and played in 47 games while at Houston. Gafford provided snaps for every punt, field goal and conversion attempt in his four years with the UH football team.
Gafford recorded 20 tackles in his career on special teams, including nine during the 2003 campaign. He also recovered a fumble against Louisville in 2002 that led to a touchdown in the Cougars' 27-10 win over the Cardinals.
