Lincoln Named C-USA Co-Pitcher of the Week

HOUSTON - University of Houston junior righthander Brad Lincoln was named the Conference USA Co-Pitcher of the week Tuesday following his performance at the 2006 Houston College Classic last weekend.
Lincoln, a native of Clute, Texas, held Texas Tech to only five hits with a UH season high nine strikeouts in seven shutout innings of work. He struck out six of seven Red Raider hitters that he faced midway through the contest.
He has now thrown 12.0 consecutive scoreless innings to open the 2006 season and 12.1 total dating back to last season.
That was not the only award that Lincoln received. He was the only Cougar named to the Houston College Classic All-Tournament Team and was recognized as the three-day event's Most Outstanding Player.
Lincoln shared the award with Tulane's Billy Mohl. Rice's Aaron Luna was named the C-USA Hitter of the Week.
He and his Cougar teammates return to action at 7 p.m., Tuesday, as they play host to Stephen F. Austin at Cougar Field.
