With less than a month before the start of the 2006 season, season tickets for the University of Houston baseball team are still available.
The Cougars will play host to some of the nation's best teams at the friendly confines of Cougar Field in 2006. UH will compete in 27 games at its home facility.
In Conference USA action, the Cougars will welcome league newcomers Marshall during the first conference weekend of the season on March 24-26. In addition, No. 12 Tulane (April 7-9), Memphis (April 21-23) and UCF (May 5-7) will visit Houston during the regular season.
On the non-conference side, the Cougars will face Monmouth (Feb. 24-26) and San Diego (March 17-19) in three-game, weekend series. Texas-San Antonio, Stephen F. Austin, Northwestern State, Lamar, Baylor, Texas A&M, Prairie View A&M, McNeese State and Sam Houston State also are scheduled to visit Cougar Field in 2006.
Fans can purchase reserved seating season tickets for only $160 with general admission season tickets costing $115. UH faculty/staff members with valid IDs and members of the "H" Association can buy reserved season tickets for $130 or general admission season tickets for $95.
The Family Plan allows Cougar fans to purchase a minimum of four general admission season tickets for $220.
Single-game tickets go on sale Feb. 2. Fans can purchase reserved seating for $9 or general admission tickets for $6. A youth general admission tickets for students 18 years old and younger is available for $4.
UH students with valid IDs are admitted free into all Cougar Baseball games and can purchase a student guest ticket for only $4.
Fans always can order their season tickets on-line, 24 hours a day, at www.UHCougars.com.
The UH Ticket Office is located on the first floor of the Athletics/Alumni Center at 3100 Cullen Blvd and is open during regular business hours, Monday through Friday. For more information or to buy tickets, fans can call 713-GO-COOGS or 877-COUGAR-5 or fax the Ticket Office at (713) 743-9449.
The Cougars, who are ranked No. 32 in the Collegiate Baseball preseason poll, open the 2006 season at 2 p.m., Feb. 7 against Texas-San Antonio at Cougar Field.
From there, the team will compete in the Astros College Classic at Minute Maid Park on Feb. 10-12 for the sixth consecutive season. UH opens the three-day, round-robin tournament at 7 p.m., Feb. 10 against No. 1 Texas with a showdown against No. 19 TCU at 3:30 p.m., Feb. 11. The Cougars wrap up their stay against Texas Tech at 11 a.m., Feb. 12.
