UH Plans Volunteer Effort for September 19th

HOUSTON - Many University of Houston athletes and coaches have expressed an interest in volunteering and donating time with the continued relief efforts of Hurricane Katrina in the Bayou City.
Earlier this month, the entire UH baseball team as well as the track and field squad volunteered at the Star of Hope shelter over a two day period in downtown Houston.
Thanks to Advantage Rent-A-Car, the Cougars will caravan down to the Christ Church Shelter this Monday for a relief effort. The event was set up by Outreach Coordinator Jaron Barganier and Maria Peden from Student-Athlete Servies.
The Cougars will bring shoes, school supplies and clothing down to the shelter on Monday before the volunteer effort.
