Houston Hosts Conference USA Indoor Track and Field Championships

Houston, Texas - The University of Houston will be the host for the Conference USA Indoor Track and Field Championships inside the Bill Yeoman Field House on Friday, February 25 and Saturday, February 26.
The Cougars enter this year's meet looking to win their third straight C-USA Indoor Championship and have three returning champions competing. They are Andrew Carruthers, who won the 60-meter hurdles in 2004 with a sesaon-best time of 7.86 seconds.
Ron Veillon also looks to win his third straight C-USA Indoor heptathlon championships after winning last year's title with 5,373 points.
Vincent Marshall also was the C-USA triple jump champion after lepaing 49-6.25.
The Lady Cougars also will be looking to win their third C-USA indoor championship in the last four years after winning the 2002 and 2003 C-USA titles.
Krystal Ward is the defending champion in the women's pentathlon after winning last year's championship with 3,811 points.
The meet begins Friday morning at 9:00 a.m. with the men's heptathlon. The women's pentathlon begins at 9:30. The field events begin at 1:00 p.m. and running events start at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
The final day of competition begins at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday with the final three events in the men's heptathlon. The Field events will begin at 11:00 a.m. and running events begin at 1:00.
The meet concludes at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday with an awards ceremony in which the team champions, along with Athletes and Coaches of the Year are announced.
