HOUSTON - The University of Houston baseball team look to return to its winning ways this weekend as the Cougars play host to Pepperdine in a three-game, non-conference series at Cougar Field.
The series begins at 7 p.m., Friday, continues at 2 p.m., Saturday and wraps up at 1 p.m., Sunday. Fans should note that Saturday's game time was moved up earlier this week to avoid a conflict with the UH men's basketball team.
Friday's game can be heard live on KLVL 1480 AM with both Saturday's and Sunday's games broadcast on KGBC 1540 AM. Former Cougar players Nick Torina and Pat Cauley will call all the action with the pregame show slated to begin 15 minutes before first pitch.

The Cougars come into the game on the heels of a disappointing 7-6 loss in 10 innings to No. 10 Rice on Tuesday in Game One of the annual Sterling Bank Silver Glove Series. The Owls took advantage of a triple and suicide squeeze in the final frame to take the early lead in the best-of-five Series.
In that game, junior outfielder Travis Tully went 4-for-5 with a pair of RBI to tie his career high in hits. That also extended his hitting streak to a team-best seven games dating back to last season.
With that performance, Tully jumped into the team lead with a .412 batting average and four RBIs. He and junior infielder Matt Farrington are tied for the team lead with one home run apiece after blasting them at the Minute Maid Park College Classic on Feb. 11-13.
Sophomore righthander Brad Lincoln is scheduled to make the start in the series opener for the Cougars. This season, the Clute, Texas, native has posted an 0-1 record with three strikeouts and an 8.44 ERA in 5.1 innings of work.
Senior righthander Kea Kometani (1-1, 4.91) is scheduled to make the start in the opener for the Waves.
Senior Steve Kleen leads Pepperdine in all three Triple Crown categories with a .375 batting average, three home runs and eight RBIs. Junior infielder David Uribes is tied for team-high honors in batting average as well.
The Waves (3-3) come into the series well-rested after sitting out since winning two out of three against Cal Poly last weekend in Malibu, Calif.
This will be only the second time that these two teams have met on the baseball diamond. UH owns a 1-0 lead after taking a 2-0 win during the second day of the Battle at the Beach on Feb. 8, 2003, in Malibu, Calif.
