Figueroa Finishes in 11th Place At NCAA Regional Championships

Waco, Texas - University of Houston senior cross country star Sesar Figueroa posted an 11th-place finish at the NCAA South Central Championships in Waco, Texas, as he completed the 10-kilometer course in 31:26.15.
Freshman Kelcee Keenan was the top runner for the Lady Cougars as she completed the six-kilometer course in 23:51.60 to finish in 55th place in the women's race.
The Cougars had a 14th place finish in the team standings with 298 points. Maurilio Sanchez finished in 50th place with a time of 33:48.00. Paul Goodwin had a time of 34:25.90 to finish in 64th place. Ben Cohen finished in 86th place with a time of 37:09.60, and Gus Forward placed 87th with a time of 38:29.75.
Arkansas won the men's team title with 33 points as the Razorbacks had two of the top three runners in the men's race. Westley Keating of Texas-Pan American was the men's team champion with a time of 29:30.75, while Peter Kosgei of Arkansas was the runner-up with a time of 30:30.25 after edging his teammate, Josphat Boit by five-hundredths of a second. Boit finished the race in 30:30.30.
In the women's division, Houston had 14th place with 396 points, as sophomore Adrianne Guinn finished in 76th place with a time of 24:34.80. She finished just ahead of teammate Shawna Florida, who had a time of 24:35. 20. Oumama Hallal had time of 25:32.80 to finish in 90th place, and Eva Madrid had a time of 26:08.20 to finish in 94th place. Jennifer Harper completed the coursein 27:02.35 to finish in 102nd place.
Arkansas edged the host school, Baylor, by one point to win the women's team title, 45-46. Brittany of Brockman of Baylor was the women's individual champion with a time of 20:47.20.
