Day 2 Results of Houston Indoor Invitational

HOUSTON - The conclusion of Day 2 at the Houston Indoor Invitational saw the Cougars come away with 10 first-place finishes and 25 top-three performances at the Invitational.
On the women's side, the Cougars made their presence felt in every event as the women landed at least one performer in the top three in every event at the invitational.
The men too had a strong performance where they placed a performer in the top three of every even the Cougars competed in.
Participating in the Invitational were 13 different schools from around the region and even included some athletes that have already used up their eligibility but were competing unattached.
Schools at the meet included: Houston, Texas, Texas-Arlington, Sam Houston, Lamar, McNeese State, Nichols State, Stephen F. Austin, Texas Southern, Texas-San Antonio, Texas Lutheran, Mississippi College and Prairie View A&M.
The Cougars will be back at it again next weekend as the host the Houston Indoor Classic on Saturday, Feb. 5.

WOMEN 60-M Dash: LaDedra Guy placed 2nd among the collegiate athletes and 3rd overall with a time of 7.58
200-M: Cheryl Garner placed 1st in 24.20; Alicia placed 3rd in 25.05
400-M: Cheryl Garner placed 1st in 55.65; Kiesha Howard placed 2nd in 55.69
800-M: Jennifer Hunt place 2nd among the collegiate athletes and 3rd overall in 2:14.63
Mile: Shawna Florida placed 2nd among the collegiate athletes and 3rd overall in 5:21.92; Oumama Hallal placed 3rd among the collegians and 4th overall in 5:21.72
60-M Hurdles: Alicia Cave placed 1st in 8.49
4X400-M Relay: Houston placed 1st in 3:44.53
Distance Medley Relay: Houston placed 1st in 12:53.74
High Jump: Nichole Brundage placed 2nd with 1.63-meters (5'4.25")
Triple Jump: Kelli Williams placed 2nd among collegians and 3rd overall with 11.23-meter (36'10.25")
Pole Vault: Danielle Anaerud placed 1st among collegians and 4th overall with a height of 3.45-M (11'03.75")
Long Jump: Jasmine Jackson placed 2nd among collegians and 2nd overall with a jump of 6.03-M (19'9.5")
Shot Put: Tinisha Wesley placed 2nd with 13.99-M (45'10.75")
Weight Throw: Shayla Bowman placed 2nd with 17.91-M (58'9.25")
Pentathlon: Krystal Ward placed 2nd with 3,878 points
MEN 200-M: Preston Perry placed 2nd in 21.78
400-M: Dominique Milton placed 2nd among collegians and fourth overall in 49.41
800-M: Kolee Latson placed 2nd in 1:55.44
Mile: Sesar Figueroa placed 1st in 4:17.15
60-M Hurdles: Andrew Carruthers placed 1st among collegians and 4rd overall; Milton Manson placed 2nd and 6th in 8.07
4X400-M Relay: Houston placed 1st in 3:14.88
High Jump: Ivan Diggs placed 3rd with 2.08-M (6'9.75")
Pole Vault: Tom Rusteberg placed tied for 1st among collegians and 3rd overall with 4.90-M
Long Jump: Brandon Bray placed 2nd with 7.29-M (23'11")
