ECU HEAD COACH RANDY MAZEY
"We hadn't played in a long time and we were anxious to get out there and start swinging the bats again. I think when you play in front of people that have never seen you play, from all these different teams, these guys wanted to prove we're the best team in the league, the fourth best team in the nation and we're going to go ahead and show you why."
On pitcher Gregg Bunn
"Sometimes he's kind of frustrating to watch because you think he's all over the place and doesn't have any control. But he always makes good pitches when he has to and gets outs when he has to, that's typical Gregg Bunn"
On the importance of pitching a complete game
"In a tournament setting, complete games are golden. If you can get a complete game and rest the remainder of your staff that really helps. If they (Louisville) had extended the game a few more innings we probably would have ran somebody else out there, but it's good we just used one guy on the first day."
ECU Catcher John Poppert
"I'm just hitting the ball better right now than have been in the past. It feels great. The last couple of games I've been hitting the ball in situations where RBI's come and it feels good. I hope I keep doing it.
