HOUSTON - The University of Houston softball team's Kristen Glowacz was named the Conference USA Hitter after going 5-for-8, including two doubles and a home run to help the Cougars sweep Saint Louis over the weekend.
Glowacz sparked the Houston offense in a three-game sweep over Saint Louis last weekend by either scoring or knocking in the first run of all three games. She went 5-for-8 (.625) while collecting two doubles and a home run and also scored six runs, recorded five RBI, and finished with a 1.250 slugging percentage. The junior collected 10 total bases in just three games and successfully stole three bases on three attempts.
For the season Glowacz leads the Cougars in nine different offensive categories including hits (61), home runs (9) and RBI's with 42.
Houston, who finished in fifth place in the C-USA regular season, will start play at the Conference USA Tournament on Thursday morning when they take on the No. 4 seeded DePaul Blue Demons at 10 a.m.
