HOUSTON - The University of Houston football team continued spring practice Monday afternoon with a solid practice at the UH practice Fields.
Head coach Art Briles said the Cougars practices to this point have been great, and expects they will continue to get better.
"We've really having a great spring," he said. "We're leaps and bounds ahead of where we were at this point last year which is very encouraging. We're having a chance to tinker with some things scheme wise on both sides of the ball. Our players are in really good shape from the off-season workouts. We feel good about the product we're going to put on the field."
As far as the players going at it on the field, Briles said his team is working on several areas, which will help them improve.
"We're working on tempo, finesse, intelligence and toughness along with everything that goes with being a productive team member. We have a lot of good football players and we have to understand our roles and do what's best for the University of Houston Cougars.
The Cougars will practice again Wednesday afternoon.
