Rain Suspends Houston Softball Tournament

HOUSTON, Texas - Rain suspended the opening day of the Hilton Houston Plaza Cougar Invitational at the Cougar Softball Field. Play was halted in the bottom of the fourth inning in the Louisiana-Monroe game against Baylor. Officials determined to suspend play until Saturday morning.
With cold and rain present all day, two of the six regularly-scheduled games were played, with Baylor defeating Northern Iowa and Northern Iowa knocking off UL Monroe in extra innings. The University of Houston, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi and Sam Houston State did not get to play a game on Friday.
The following is the revised schedule for the rest of the weekend.
Saturday, February 14
9 am UL-Monroe vs. Baylor (suspended game)
10 am UL-Monroe vs. Texas A&M-Corpus Christi
noon Sam Houston State vs. UL-Monroe
2 pm Northern Iowa vs. Sam Houston State
4 pm Texas A&M-Corpus Christi vs. Baylor
6 pm Baylor vs. Houston
8 pm Houston vs. Northern Iowa
Sunday, February 15
9 am Northern Iowa vs. Texas A&M-Corpus Christi
11 am Sam Houston State vs. Baylor
1 pm UL-Monroe vs. Houston
3 pm Sam Houston State vs. Texas A&M-Corpus Christi
5 pm Texas A&M-Corpus Christi vs. Houston
7 pm Houston vs. Sam Houston State
