Lady Cougars Ready to Win

December 31, 2004 - University of Houston Lady Cougars Basketball team are gearing up to face the New Mexico State Aggies on Monday, January 3rd at 7:05 pm CST at the Pan American Center in Las Cruces, New Mexico.
This marks the Lady Cougars seventh straight road game, and the sixth meeting between the Cougars and the Aggies. Houston holds a 4-1 advantage in the all-time series. The Cougars beat the Aggies 59-39 last season. While the Lady Cougars have lost their last two games after starting the season 9-0, they are ready to regain their win streak. Leading the Cougars in this fight is Sancho Lytlle. She is averaging 20.6 and 12.2 rebounds a game. Also providing a huge presence is Joann Overstreet. The senior guard leads C-USA in assists with eight and in steals with four The Lady Cougars then go on to face Tulane on January 7, 2005 in New Orleans, LA., and then onto Hattiesburg, Miss. where they face Southern Miss on January 9, 2005. The Lady Cougars will return home to play UAB in Hofheinz Pavilion on January 14, 2005.
