Houston, Texas- - After being forced to practice inside the Bill Yeoman Field House due to rain storms in the Houston area, the University of Houston football team returned to the Cougar Practice Fields for its final preparations for eighth-ranked Louisville. The game kicks off at 4:00 p.m. on Houston's John O'Quinn Field at Robertson Stadium.
Saturday's game also marks Houston's final game of the 2004 season and will be the last home game for 15 senior players on this year's UH roster. They are kicker/punter Dustin Bell, safety Courtney Brooks, defensive end Joe Clay, tight end Stephen Cucci, cornerback Gerard Daniels, fullback Carl Francis, slot receiver Thomas Gafford, defensive end Kendrick Goss, defensive end Travis Griffith, offensive lineman Phil Hawkins, wide receiver Mark Hopkins, cornerback Stanford Routt, fullback Matt Schirmer, linebacker Ashley Subingsubing and holder/punter J.J. Wyatt.
Fans can purchase tickets to the game for $5 and get free hot dogs. The first 5,000 fans through the gates will receive a free T-Shirt.
The game can be heard live on Star 790 KBME-AM with Tom Franklin, Tony Fitzpatrick and Chuck Brown describing the action. The game also is broadcast live on the UHCougars.com web site.
