Houston, Texas - Following a day off on Thursday, the University of Houston football team returned to the practice field and began preparations for their nationally-televised game at East Carolina on Tuesday, September 26.
"We really had a good practice today because our legs and minds are fresh," Houston head coach Art Briles said. "We focused on improving our strength during the past few days. Now it's good to get back to our normal game-week routine."
Tuesday night's game will be Houston's third road game since September 6. The Cougars will practice Saturday and Sunday before traveling to Greenville on Monday.
Briles looks at the East Carolina game as part of an important four-game stretch.
"We have four conference games before our next open date on November 1," Briles said. "I am interested where we will be then."
Houston opens its Conference USA schedule at East Carolina. The Cougars also play at Tulane on October 11, before returning home to play Memphis on October 18 and TCU on October 25.
The Cougars close out the regular season with their Homecoming game on November 8 against Southern Miss, and play at Army on November 15 and Louisville on November 22. Houston closes out the regular season against UAB on November 29.
