Glowacz Named All-Region

HOUSTON, Texas - University of Houston sophomore third baseman Kristen Glowacz (Katy, Texas) today was named to the 2003 South All-Region Second Team. Last week, Glowacz was named to the Conference USA First Team.
Glowacz was steady all season for the Cougars, leading the team in virtually every offensive category. Glowacz slugged a team-high 14 homeruns and led the team with a .364 batting average and .699 slugging percentage. She was second on the team in RBI and struck out only nine times in over 200 times at the plate, posting a streak of 26 straight games without a whiff.
She also led UH with 10 steals and never grounded into a double play all season.
One season removed from being named the Conference USA Freshman of the Year, Glowacz helped lead her team to a 36-24 record and a number-three seed in the postseason tournament.
