HOUSTON - More than the city will be watching when the University of Houston baseball team plays host to Rice in the 2003 Silver Glove Series finale at 7 p.m., Wednesday, April 16.
The Cougars' regular-season finale with the crosstown rival Owls will be televised live on DirecTV by College Sports Television. CSTV launched Monday night and is available to more than 11 million homes on channel 610 through DirecTV.
Barry Tompkins will call the play-by-play action with Julie Croteau adding color analysis. UH, which has won nine of its last 11 games, recently jumped into a tie for first place in Conference USA after sweeping league rival UAB last weekend at Cougar Field. The Cougars head east on Interstate 10 this weekend to meet league foe Tulane in a three-game series in New Orleans before facing the Owls.
Rice has won the first four meetings of the annual Series to claim the Silver Glove Trophy for the third consecutive year.
