Softball To Host UAB in C-USA Weekend Series

HOUSTON - The University of Houston softball team will enter the heart of Conference USA play as it hosts UAB in a three-game league series this weekend. The Cougars (26-17, 8-4) will battle the Lady Blazers (21-20, 6-9) in a doubleheader Saturday and a single game Sunday at 1 p.m. at the Cougar Softball Stadium.
After going 2-1 at Charlotte last week, the Cougars are looking to continue their winning ways against UAB. Houston is currently fourth in the C-USA standings, one game behind the third-place Cardinals (8-3).
The Lady Blazers have won four of their last five games, including a three-game home sweep of East Carolina last weekend. UAB leads the all-time series against Houston 4-2.
Junior pitcher Jamie Falco (10-7) leads the Cougar battery with a team-best 1.24 ERA in 107.0 innings of work. Cougar third baseman Kristen Glowacz, who is hitting .333, leads C-USA in slugging percentage (.617) is second in doubles (11) and third in homeruns (seven) and total bases (74).
