Cougars Capture Second Place at Purple & Gold Challenge

Baton Rouge, La. - In the championship game of the Purple & Gold Challenge at Tiger Park, the University of Houston was shut out, 8-0, by the host LSU Tigers, ranked number eight in the nation. With the loss the Cougars fall to 10-10 on the year, but still claim the runner-up slot at the tournament.
In the three-day tournament the Cougars posted a 4-2 mark, taking two from Conference USA foe, Southern Miss, as well as one from the nationally-ranked Tigers and one from Jackson State. Both pitcher Jamie Falco and second baseman Jeanie Davis were selected to the all-tournament team.
