Glowacz Named C-USA Hitter of the Week Again

HOUSTON - University of Houston sophomore Kristen Glowacz was named Conference USA Hitter of the Week for the period ending March 9.
Glowacz, the Cougars' starting third baseman, tallied two homeruns and two doubles as Houston went 7-0 last week. The sophomore ended up with 11 hits for six RBI in wins over Southern Miss, Louisiana Tech and Saint Louis.
Glowacz, who has hit six homeruns in 2003, is hitting .359 and boasts a .692 slugging percentage this season.
This is the second time this season (also Feb. 16 ) and third of her career that Glowacz has earned Player of the Week honors. She was also the 2002 C-USA Freshman of the Year and named to the 2003 All-C-USA Preseason Team.
The Cougars (17-10, 5-0 C-USA) have won their last seven in a row and 12 of their last 14. Houston will return to Conference USA play tonight when they wrap up the Saint Louis series at 7 p.m. (originally scheduled for 1 p.m.) at the Cougar Softball Stadium.
