Diary #2
We had one of the toughest weekends in the history of our program. From extra inning games, to stomach virus this team went through it all. The win/loss column did not reflect how strong this team is and how close of a family we are. We knew going into the weekend it was our toughest set of games on our schedule and our team would be tested. We opened up with SWT and Arkansas. With a flat offensive performance and some defensive mistakes behind us we headed into day two 0-2. Saturday proved to be even more challenging with the stomach virus beginning and more late night extra inning games ahead. Our offense woke up and we left the day 1-3 loosing to Oregon and beating Texas A&M CC. Sunday was more miserable than the drizzle we woke up to. Over half of the nineteen players had been up all night sick, including our manager and my husband. We waited til game time to enter in a lineup that could make three outs without a trip to the restroom. Three pitchers later we lost to Texas Tech 4-2 and left 1-4 on the weekend. Feeling lucky to be heading home, we look to the next two weeks to get our wind back and prepare for our home opener. Let's hope cupid hits us with the right arrow on February 14th
