HOUSTON, Texas - University of Houston softball coach Kyla Holas announced the signing of six players to National Letters of Intent today to play softball for the University of Houston.
Infielder Dru Daniels of Davie, Florida (Hollywood Christian Academy), pitcher Barbie Love of Alvin, Texas (Alvin High School), catcher Christa Raley of LaPorte, Texas (LaPorte High School), Outfielder Crystal Seipel of Houston (Alief Hastings High School), pitcher Angel Shamblin of Davie, Florida (Hollywood Christian Academy), and infielder Jennifer Walsh of Houston (Dobie High School)
The six players will fill the role for the first ever senior class of cougar softball players that will finish their UH careers at the end of the 2004 season.
"This is a big class for us," Holas said. "We are replacing the builders of this program with the six listed above. Those are big shoes to fill, but we believe we have signed the best class to date and raise our expectations immediately. I look forward to next fall and the beginning of phase two of this program."
