HOUSTON - University of Houston baseball head coach Rayner Noble announced the signing of five more student-athletes to National Letters of Intent on Thursday as part of the early signing period.
That brings the Cougar Baseball signee list to 13 after eight players committed to UH on Wednesday. The entire 13-player signing class is composed entirely of freshmen with the overwhelming majority hailing from the greater Houston area.
Thursday's signing list includes two righthanded pitchers, two outfielders and a catcher. Pitchers Bryan Colquitt (Stratford High) and Sean McLemore (Pearland High) and catcher Cody Waller (Bryan High) make up the infield group.
In the outfield, Mark McGonigle (Bellaire High) and Kori Williams (Lamar Consolidated) will join the Cougar squad in time for the 2005 season.
Noble and the Cougars open their 2004 season on Feb. 13-15 when they compete at the Minute Maid Park College Classic in Houston.
