HOUSTON, Texas - After spending the last four weeks at home the University of Houston football team will hit the road Saturday for a Conference USA showdown against Army at Michie Stadium in West Point, N.Y.
The Cougars (5-4, 2-3 C-USA) are looking to get back in the win column after dropping three straight games at home. Cougar head coach Art Briles said the team is just anxious to get back out and play football.
"We're just ready to get back on the field," Briles said. "We need to play. We don't feel real good about the last game or the last three, so when those kinds of situations face you, you just want to get back out there and prove yourself. Everyday that gets closer is a day we get more ready."
Army enters Saturday's game with an 0-10 record, 0-7 in C-USA, but Briles said the Cougars have to be ready for a battle.
"They play with great discipline and great effort and they are very well schemed," he said. "They're a team that nobody has really jumped on this year. They've lost their games, but they've lost anywhere from three points to 10. We know we're in for 60 minutes of battle. We're going to go up there and be ready to battle for all 60 of them.
"We've got to dominate up front on both sides of the ball and have a good running game. We have to be non-predictable in our passing game and then on defense we have to play tough aggressive defense and create some turnovers."
