Softball takes two at Baseball USA

HOUSTON, Texas - Cougar softball wrapped up their fall schedule over the weekend with wins over McNeese State and Grayson Community College at Baseball USA on Sunday afternoon.
Houston opened play with a 5-1 win over McNeese State, which saw Crystal Briscoe and Jenny Johnson combine for a two hitter giving up just one run and striking out six. The offense was lead by several Cougars who had multiple hits. Kristen Glowacz Jenilee Skender, Lindsay Durham and Jeanie Davis all went 2-3 to lead Houston to the win.
In game two of the day, the Cougars blanked Grayson 4-0 behind another impressive pitching effort and strong offense. Glowacz again had a hot bat going three for three with two home runs and all four RBI's while Michelle Keith went two for three at the plate.
Jamie Falco and Carla Kennimer combined to one-hit Grayson, Falco going three innings while Kennimer went four.
The two wins Sunday gave Houston a 7-1 record for the fall season. The Cougars will now have to wait until February for live action, when they open the regular season at the Texas Round Robin in Austin, Texas on February 6
