Sullivan to be Honored by Houston Athletic Committee

HOUSTON - University of Houston junior pitcher Brad Sullivan will be honored Friday night by the Houston Athletic Committee.
Sullivan, who was named the Houston Area Preseason College Player of the Year, will be recognized Friday in the George Bush Grand Ballroom at the George R. Brown Convention Center.
The 2002 C-USA Pitcher of the Year and a consensus First-Team All-American, Sullivan racked up a 13-1 record with a 1.82 ERA while leading the nation with 157 strikeouts. He is expected to anchor a staff which finished fifth nationally with a 3.20 team ERA.
Sullivan and his Cougar teammates open the 2003 season Feb. 7-9 at the Battle at the Beach. UH faces UC Santa Barbara, host Pepperdine and Washington during the three-day event. Astros outfielder Lance Berkman and first baseman Jeff Bagwell, Astros pitchers Roy
Oswalt and Ricky Stone, Pittsburgh pitcher Kip Wells and New York Mets manager Art Howe are among those will be honored at the event, now in its 18th year.
