Houston, Texas - After a very frustrating loss against Tulane three days ago, the University of Houston football team faces a very "important" game against Louisiana-Lafayette this Saturday night at John O'Quinn Field at Robertson Stadium.
"It is very important for us to bounce back this week," head football coach Dana Dimel said after putting his team through a second straight demanding practice. "We need to play like we played in the first game of the season at Rice.
"I thought we beat a very good football team that game. They have two defensive linemen who are as good as any lineman in Conference USA. They proved that they are a good team at Michigan State."
Houston was looking to start the season with a 2-0 record for the first time since 1990 against Tulane last Saturday, but the Cougars suffered a 34-13 loss after turning the ball over seven times.
"We let something get away from us with several missed opportunities (against Tulane)," Dimel said. "We showed that we could play well at times in the game, but we weren't consistent and didn't finish each play strong. We need to put it back together this week."
