INGRAM, BORWELL AND IVANOV TAKE TOP C-USA HONORS League announces women's tennis postseason honorees
CHICAGO- Conference USA's Coach of the Year and Player of the Year both hail from the state of Texas, as veteran TCU coach ROLAND INGRAM and Houston senior SARAH BORWELL earned C-USA's top two women's tennis individual honors in 2002. The league's 14 head coaches also voted Tulane's MARIA IVANOV as C-USA Freshman of the Year.
Ingram, the only full-time head coach in TCU's 19-year women's tennis history, enters the May 10 NCAA Championship with a 327-154 mark (.680). The Horned Frogs earned Conference USA's automatic bid to the NCAAs when they won the C-USA Championship April 21 in Ft. Worth. Ingram's teams have posted 16 winning campaigns and will be making their sixth NCAA Regional appearance. This marks TCU's third-straight 20-win season and the sixth in Ingram's tenure. The 2001 ITA Southwest Region Coach of the Year is a member of the Texas Tennis Coaches Association Hall of Fame and has served as a coach in several U.S. Olympic Festivals.
Borwell has ranked among the top 15 in the nation this season and opened 2002 with an 11-match winning streak, topping her former career-best of nine set last fall. The senior from Middlesborough, England sat out the 1999-00 season to recover from back surgery and has posted a 26-6 dual match mark over the last two years.

Ivanov was one of three Green Wave to earn Conference USA Player of the Week honors this season. Ivanov and Borwell are joined on the Conference USA First Team by TCU's PATY ABURTO and KATRIN GABER, DePaul's SZILVIA KELEMEN and UAB's MONIKA SCHMID.
