Cougar softball defeated by No. 16 Blue Demons

Houston, Texas - The (25-16) took on No. 16 DePaul (19-6) in a postponed doubleheader on Saturday. The Cougars were shutout in the first game loosing 7-0 in seven innings. In the second game of the double header the Cougars came back to within one but were still unable to top the Blue Demons, final score 6-5.
In the first game, the Cougars did manage three hits, two by Kristen Glowacz and on by Riane Netardus off pitcher Lindsay Chouinard for DePaul. The pitcher for Houston was Jenny Johnson, she moves to 8-8 on the season.
In the second game the Cougars found their bats, and knocked eleven hits to DePaul's nine. The Cougar hits were by Netardus (2), Arelis Ferreris, Ali McDougall (2), Leslie Seay (2),Candis Turnbo (2), Kristen Glowacz and Lindsay Durham. Durham hit her first homerun of the season and the fifth of her career to bring the score to within one.
The pitcher in the second game for the Cougars was Jamie Falco, she moves to 10-4 on the season. The Cougars finish their weekend with and overall record of 25-16 and 4-7 in Conference USA.
