Cougar Tennis Defeated By Cross State Rival UTEP

The Cougars took three of the top four singles matches, but doubles loses take the match Wednesday at the El Paso Tennis Club.
The loss moved the team to 7-5 on the season. Sarah Borwell #15 defeated Elizabeth Stone to take the top singles spot and she improved her record to 12-0. Jo Keene improves to 12-0 also in singles moving up to the Cougars #3 spot this week to beat UTEP's Callie Dand in straight sets. Analia Longoni also took a win for the Cougars in the #4 position defeating Kendall Exelby 6-2, 4-6, 7-6.
In doubles today the duo of Jen Baccarani and Sarah Borwell took their tenth win of the year over the Miners Furdyna and Gonzales 8-3.
The Cougars will be back in action on March 22, 2002 in Lubbock, Texas to take on the Texas Tech Red Raiders.
