San Marcos, Texas - In the sixth game of the weekend for Houston Cougar softball, the team again scored their first batter, Leslie Seay. She hit the Cougar's first triple of the year over the right fielders head. She waited patiently for Ferreris to come to bat and she pushed Seay across home plate and received an RBI for her single to left.
Ferreris started the fourth inning rout with a solo homerun over the left field fence. Kim Cote singled following Ferreris, Jenilee Skender reached on an error and Michelle Keith singled to load the bases. The Bobcat pitcher Nicole Neuerburg walked Candis Turnbo, moving the runners around and scoring Amber King (running for Kim Cote.) Ali McDougal came in to pinch hit and scored both Lindsay Durham, pinch running for Skender and Keith. Kristen Glowacz slapped her sixth hit of the weekend for a single. The Cougars batted around and Ferreris found her way back to the plate and hit an additional liner to center to score two, finishing the fourth inning with the score 8-0. Ashley Koop produced under pressure for the Bobcats knocking a solo homer (her second career homerun). She broke open the shutout for the Cougars making the score 8-1.
Pitcher Jamie Falco takes her third win of the weekend back to Houston. The Cougars finish the weekend 6-0 with two wins over #17 Southwest Texas to top their list.
