Houston, Texas - The Lady Cougars came to play in their first game of the day on Saturday, scoring 14 runs in five innings for the win 14-0.
The Cougars scored seven runs on seven hits which included four doubles and two singles. The lead-off batter, Leslie Seay slapped two of the hits in the first inning. Other Houston batters earning hits in the first: Riane Netardus, Kim Cote (2B), Jeanie Davis (2B), Michelle Keith (2B) and Kim Nesloney (2B).
Lindsay Durham began the third inning scoring with a bunt single to the pitcher. For her third hit of the game, Leslie Seay powered a triple to right field and earned three RBI. Riane Netardus got her second hit to the left fielder, Kim Cote walked to reach base, Ray Ferreris poked a long ball out of centerfield and scored three RBI to finish the scoring. Amber King and Riane Netardus also had hits in the fifth inning.
Top batters of the game were Leslie Seay (3-for-3, 3 RBI), Riane Netardus (3-for-3, 2 runs scored), and Ferreris hit the games only homer (1-for-3 with 3RBI).
The Cougars will play their second game of the day at 7:00pm versus Texas rival Baylor University.
