HOUSTON - University of Houston head softball coach Kyla Holas announced the early signing of infielder Jamie Adams (Houston-Cypress Creek) to a National Letter of Intent on Wednesday.
"We are very excited to add Jamie to our program," Holas said. "She has tremendous enthusiasm about being a Cougar. We are looking for her to step in and contribute immediately in our infield. Her work ethic and talent are exactly what we need to keep improving each year."
Adams has earned many accolades as a high school athlete, including All District honors and the Cypress Creek Cougar Pride and 110% Cypress Creek awards in 2000-02. She was also named District 22-5A Freshman of the Year, placed fifth in the 2001 FAST Nationals and seventh in the 2000 NSA Nationals.
The Houston Cougar softball program, which finished 35-25 in 2002, is entering its third season of competition.
