Fastpitch Fall Ball Results and Highlights

Houston, Texas - The University of Houston hosted a fall tournament September 28-29 at the UH Softball Complex on campus. The Cougars saw preseason action against Galveston College, Prairie View A&M, Alvin College and Blinn College in six games. Houston went 6-0 on the weekend, putting 69 hits and 10 HRs on the board.

2002 Cougar Fall Tournament #2 Results and Highlights -- Houston

Sept. 28

vs. Blinn -- W, 8-0

Crystal Briscoe allowed only one hit in six innings, struck out five.

Brooke Johnson went 2-4 with one RBI.

vs. Alvin -- W, 12-1

Houston recorded 16 hits.

Arelis Ferreris was 3-3 with one HR and three RBIs.

Kim Nesloney was also 3-3 with one HR and two RBIs.

vs. Prairie View A&M -- W, 8-4

Kristen Glowacz and Brandi Clark each knocked out a HR.

B. Johnson was 2-3 with 2 RBIs.

Sept. 29

vs. Galveston -- W, 15-6

Houston posted 17 hits -- a school pre-season record.

B. Johnson, Jenilee Skender and Amber King each recorded HRs.

vs. Blinn -- W, 3-0

Jenny Johnson earned the shutout, striking out five and allowing only one hit in seven innings.

vs. Alvin -- W, 13-1

Team totaled 13 hits; Skender hit 2 HRs.

Michelle Keith pitched her first complete game; allowed only three hits and walked one.

Notes

The Cougars tallied 69 hits and 10 HRs in the six games.
