Joshua Pilakowski from Austin, Texas, asked Jane Anne Karasek:
First, congrats on a great match against Memphis. What is the highlight of your career so far? And what was the best experience as far as playing volleyball?
Jane Anne: Thanks so much for supporting the Coogs. So far, the highlight of my career was playing against my younger sister, Beth, from SMU.I had always played with her and never against her so it was fun to have family rivalry on the court. She is an awesome player. We'll meet again on October 23 this year. It should be fun.The best experience for me would be just being able to participate with the Houston volleyball team.I've met some of my best friends by just being on the team. Win or lose, I'll still have those girls around and that is so awesome.Again, thanks for the Cougar spirit.
Holly from Houston asked Donna Sellen:
How is the team managing to win with only seven healthy players? How do you deal with the frustration, exhaustion, etc., especially when it is your last season?
Donna: Dear Holly - Thank you for your question and your interest in Houston volleyball. To be honest with you, we win because every single member of the team, regardless of who it happens to be that night, gives everything they have. Winning doesn't happen because of who is on the court necessarily, but is a product of everyone who is out there working their hardest. I don't choose to look at the injuries we have had this season as sources of frustration or fatigue, but rather as one of the best opportunities I will ever get in my life. The fact that this is my last season makes it only that much more important that I help my team in any way that I can to overcome the challenges that have been placed before us. I couldn't have asked for a richer college volleyball experience, or a better group of girls to have shared it with.
