Houston, Texas - The University of Houston football team began their final week of preparation for the TCU game with a spirited practice Tuesday afternoon. The Cougars were idle last weekend after playing four games in 22 days.
"We started regaining our excitement today after spending last week working on our fundamentals," head coach Dana Dimel said. "With an extra week to prepare, we are polishing some of our schemes for the TCU game.
The extra week also gave junior quarterback Nick Eddy some additional time to work his way back into the starting lineup.
"Having the open week provided a chance for our offense to get the chemistry back with Nick Eddy," Dimel said. "Our football team and our offense has to assume the personality that it had with Eddy during spring ball and two-a-days. This was a good week to accomplish that, and it was a good week to get ourselves revitalized and ready for the next part of our season."
Eddy is slated to replace redshirt freshman Barrick Neely as Houston's starting quarterback after Neely was diagnosed with a torn anterior cruciate ligament after the Texas game.
Houston's game at TCU is slated to kickoff at 2:00 p.m. in Fort Worth.
