Faught had another sensational C-USA outing on Saturday, April 7. The left-hander from Houston's Jersey Village High School fired a one-hit, complete game shutout against UAB as the Cougars posted a 9-0 victory. Faught allowed one hit and just two walks while equaling a career-high with 10 strikeouts. None of the 28 batters he faced reached second base. On three occasions he induced ground-ball double-plays that helped him have eight 1-2-3 innings.
With the win he lowered his ERA in C-USA games to 1.20 in four conference starts. It was Faught's second complete game of the season. His first complete game, a six-hitter against Southern Miss, also earned him the C-USA Pitcher of the Week Award on March 19.
The UH baseball team will be on the road for its next four games. The Cougars will play Texas A&M in College Station on Tuesday, April 10, and then head to New Orleans for a three-game, weekend set with No. 25 ranked Tulane April 13-15.
