Softball Signs Two For Next Year

Houston, Texas - The Houston Cougar softball team added two players to their list today. The Cougars landed these two during the early decision signing period out of three prospective players. The first player to sign is Brandi Clark from Missouri City, Texas and attended Elkins High School She will be pursuing a degree in Education. She was a member of the Katy Cruisers Gold National Championship team in 2000-01 as a utility player. For Elkins High School Clark won Second Team All-District in 2001, First Team All-District in 1999 and 2000 and the team won the District Championship in her sophomore through senior years.
The second player added to the Cougar's roster is Brooke Johnson from Huntsville, Alabama. Johnson is an outstanding outfielder at Grissom High School . Grissom's achievements are numerous earning Who's Who in Athletics award , was three -time All-City and All-Metro, was an All-State pick in 2001. She also received many team awards for Grissom. She was voted softball team captain and won the MVP award in 2001 and won the offensive award back-to-back years 2000 and 2001. She also helped her team to a State Championship in 1999. Johnson also played volleyball while at Grissom. The Cougars will look forward to these to players joining the team for Fall 2002
