While most football teams don't relish the thought of playing on the road, this weekend's game at Army will provide the Cougars with a much-needed change of scenery. Houston enters the game after playing their first three games at John O'Quinn Field.
"This game will have a great atmosphere surrounding it," UH head coach Dana Dimel said. "They play in a tremendous venue, on a field that has a lot of tradition and in front of a great crowd. Hopefully, it will inspire us to play well."
Dimel also knows that this week's game at Army will be very important as both teams are seeking their first win of the season.
"We need to get a taste of some success as a team," Dimel said. "We have worked very hard, have done all of the right things and are getting better.
"But, we have made some critical mistakes at the wrong time and that has kept us from winning our first three games. We need to rebound quickly if we are going to have a successful year."
Hoping that a change in routine will help his team succeed, Dimel also changed Houston's practice routine this week.
"We worked very hard early in the week to rebound from the TCU game," Dimel said. "Then, we have eased up just a bit today. We weren't as crisp and as sharp as I hoped we would be today. I am anxious to see how we respond to the change in routine on Saturday." It certainly been a week of changes for the Cougars this week, and Dimel is hoping that these changes will lead to some success.
